Position Title: Bell Academic Teacher

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Bell Summer Site Manager

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Site Manager and Instructional Coach, the Bell Academic Teacher develops engaging lessons based on assessment data, involving families in their child's learning, and delivering rigorous instruction in Literacy and Mathematics suitable for youth. The role aims to address summer learning loss among low-income children in urban communities, enhancing youth development and academic success.

Essential Functions
  • Implement literacy and math curricula to meet standards
  • Use assessment data to adapt lessons and improve instruction
  • Create daily lesson plans aligned with learning objectives
  • Deliver engaging, rigorous lessons using varied instructional methods
  • Maintain an organized classroom environment
  • Follow professional expectations and compliance guidelines
  • Foster a positive, achievement-oriented learning environment
  • Motivate students and uphold high behavioral and academic expectations
  • Use positive discipline and reward systems
  • Serve as a role model and empower students to make positive choices
  • Address individual academic needs
  • Collaborate with tutors and staff using co-teaching strategies
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
  • Meet professional development requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
