Lifesteps, Inc. in Monroeville, PA, is seeking a full-time Behavioral Therapist to work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will provide services in Lifesteps community homes or with external participants, traveling across Westmoreland, Washington, and Allegheny Counties.

The schedule is 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include functional assessments, behavior support planning, on-site training, and progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Human Services or a closely related field (Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Education, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Current driver’s license and valid auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Performs functional assessment and develops strategies to support a participant, including social-emotional plans and behavior plans.
• Provides on-site training to participants, staff, parents and caregivers and monitors participant progress.
• Develops effective behavior-support plans and evaluates participant progress.

The Behavior Specialist is based in the Murrysville / Monroeville area and will travel throughout Westmoreland, Washington, and Allegheny Counties, providing services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

This could include: social emotional plans, functional behavioural analyses, behaviour plans, restrictive procedures, and associated documentation necessary for tracking plan implementation.
• Provides on-site training to participants, staff, parents and caregivers and monitors participant success.
• Develops effective behavioursupport plans to be utilized by the care team and evaluates participantprogress.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Master’s Degree in Human Services or a closely related field (Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Education, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Current driver’s license and valid auto insurance..

Preferred:

• Coursework in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and experience working with adults with an intellectual disability
• ABA Certification
• Trama-informed care, such as Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) or Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
• PA Behaviour Specialist Licensure
