Pine Rest is seeking a Psychiatric Technician Level 1 to join a tight-knit team delivering physical and emotional care to clients with mental illness and developmental delays. Under supervision, you will support safety, milieu management, and crisis intervention, while following the plan of care and documenting progress.
The role requires at least six months post-high school education in behavioral sciences; CNA certification or 1–2 years of college preferred.

We are excited to launch a specialized 4‑bed pilot program within our Child and Adolescent Unit, designed to provide high‑quality inpatient care for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism and intellectual disability. This innovative program uses a data‑driven, behavior‑analytic approach to reduce challenging behaviors and address co‑occurring psychiatric conditions. Our multidisciplinary team will deliver individualized, intensive treatment focused on skill‑building, community reintegration, and caregiver training. This pilot will help shape the development of a 10‑bed inpatient unit within the future Pine Rest Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health dedicated to advancing care for this population. As a Psychiatric Technician Level 1 at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of tight‑knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. Under general supervision and according to departmental policies and procedures and within the individual plan of care performs the role of physical and emotional care given to clients with mental illness and/or developmental delays. Is responsible to actively participate in safety management, milieu management, crisis intervention and prevention. Education/Experience: Completion of a minimum of six months post high school education in behavioral sciences or equivalent is preferred. CNA certification or one to two years of college education is preferred. This position is onsite and may require both weekend and holiday hours.

The equivalent base pay range for this position is $15.57 - $21.79. Your interview and offer letter will specify whether the role is hourly or salaried. Please note that this range does not include potential shift differentials, incentives, or bonuses, which may be part of the total compensation package. Final base pay will be determined based on location, experience, education, certifications, and FTE status.
