Job summary

Port Health in Staunton, VA seeks a REACH Behavioral Technician II for the Crisis Therapeutic Home Program. You provide direct care, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support to individuals with I/DD and behavioral health needs, working 3:00 PM–11:00 PM every other weekend.

You will collaborate with clinical staff and families, implement personalized plans, and document progress while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in an on-site residential setting.

Qualifications

• Required: Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and/or Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP).
• Required: Current Virginia Board of Counseling QMHP registration, or licensure as a Mental Health Professional Resident or Supervisee.
• Required: Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and ability to transport as needed.
• Ability to work a consistent 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM schedule, including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily living activities, personal care, behavioral health needs, and community engagement.
• Implement individualized Crisis Education and Prevention Plans, behavioral support plans, and person-centered service plans.
• Monitor behavioral and mental health symptoms while providing crisis prevention, intervention, and de-escalation support.
• Facilitate therapeutic, recreational, and skill-building activities that promote independence and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, families, and community providers to support stabilization and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation, behavioral tracking, incident reports, and compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
