Park Place Behavioral Healthcare in Florida seeks a Residential Counselor to support residents in the PPBH residential program. The role involves direct care, planning activities, and supervising residents in group or one-on-one settings.

You will document progress, assist with daily living skills, and contribute to treatment plans under supervision. Applicants should be ready for a 24/7 facility with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maturity and sensitivity to mentally ill population.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to social activities, recreation, shopping and community awareness.
• Monitor weekly house meetings and guide residents in planning activities.
• Assist and instruct residents in nutrition and menu planning.
• Maintain environment; sanitation and use of equipment.
• Document progress notes and treatment plan goals; Medicaid billing entries.
• Monitor medication compliance and assist with prescription refills.

Employee will provide direct care and guidance, plan and coordinate, and supervise the residents of Res 2. Employee will assist and educate residents in basic living skills on a one-on-one or in a group setting of twelve or fewer.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:N/AEssential Duties and Responsibilities:The Duties and Responsibilities reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all related work assignments that may be inherent to the job.Transport residents to social activities, recreation shopping and community awareness.Monitor weekly house meetings and providing guidance to Residents in planning activities, resolving roommate issues, maintenance problems, suggestions, and complaints.Assist and instruct Residents in nutrition and menu planning.Assist and instruct Residents in maintenance of their environment; the use of cleaning chemicals, utensils, laundry machines, kitchen appliances with emphasis on sanitation.Advise Residents in developing habits of proper personal hygiene.Document progress notes regarding the daily, monthly and weekend activities related to the goals and objectives of the individual treatment plans.Document Medicaid billing, make accurate billing log entries, daily interaction with staff, group Psychosocial Rehabilitation Service training activities, and record Residents status in the census log.Monitor and document Resident’s medication compliance, facilitate prescription refills, medication changes, manage alternative procurement of medications for Residents without insurance and account for receipt and security of medications.Completed intakes with new Admissions using interviews with the Resident, Psychological Examinations, Psychosocial, Mental Status Exams, and information from the admissions source and other members of the treatment team, including the family.Performs other duties as required by supervisor.CORE COMPETENCIES:Maturity and sensitivity to the special needs of those who have a co-occurring mental health and/or substance use disorder.Ability to communicate client needs and information to behavioral healthcare staff.Ability to utilize and navigate an electronic health record.Ability to communicate clearly about the needs of the program to program director.QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCETo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
