Job summary

Triangle Disability & Autism Services in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Behavioral Support Staff to work part-time. You will assist individuals with IDD or autism in daily living activities, personal care and skill development, while documenting care in an EHR.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, supportive communication, and collaboration with families and supervisors. Eligible candidates have at least 6 months of related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with IDD or autism.
• Minimum 6 months experience working directly with individuals with behavioral support needs.
• Reliable and dependable

Responsibilities

• Manage and address challenging behaviors.
• Understand participant’s communication methods.
• Implement individualized behavior plans (BIPs) and person-centered plans.
• Use positive behavior support strategies to encourage appropriate behavior and social interactions.
• Assist with activities, transitions, and routines to minimize disruptions.
• Foster social-emotional skills through modeling and guided practice.
• Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement to build belonging and self-confidence.
• Respond to behavioral crises and deescalate situations to ensure safety.
• Follow protocols for managing severe incidents and seek support when needed.
• Communicate regularly with supervisor and families.
• Participate in team or ISP meetings as needed.
