Job summary

Delta-T Group's client in Aubrey, TX seeks Behavioral Support Specialists for the 2026-2027 school year to support teachers, staff and parents in addressing challenging behaviors and implementing intervention plans.

Responsibilities include designing BIPs, conducting FBAs, collaborating with ARD committees, IEP goals, crisis intervention, and providing ongoing training and modeling for classroom staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements.
  • Certificate as a school counselor or licensed professional counselor, or related degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience in special education or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with admins and teachers to design and implement BIPs and classroom management strategies.
  • Monitor effectiveness of behavioral plans and adjust as needed.
  • Conduct FBA based on observations in school, home, and community.
  • Participate in ARD meetings and support IEP goals with parents and staff.
  • Manage student behavior and intervene in crises according to IEP guidelines.
  • Assist with lesson planning, modeling, and behavior management techniques.
  • Provide individual and group activities to improve social skills in AEP settings.
  • Participate in RtI and EIT meetings to address academic and behavioral issues.

Our Clients are seeking Behavioral Support Specialists in the Aubrey, TX area and multiple neighboring campuses for the current 2026-2027 school year.
CLIENT HOURS

Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
  • Provide support and training for teachers, staff, and parents to address and manage students with challenging behaviors.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with administrators and teachers to design and develop research based behavioral intervention plans (BIP), provide support to instructional staff in implementing BIPs, and classroom management strategies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans and recommend changes as needed.
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessment (FBA) based on observation of students in school, home, and community environments. Work with school staff and parents in teaching socially acceptable behaviors to students based on individual needs.
  • Participate in admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee meetings. Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other staff members to ensure success in meeting individual educational plan (IEP) goals.
  • Manage student behavior and administer discipline including intervening in crisis situations and physically restraining students as necessary according to IEP.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, lesson modeling, classroom management, and behavior management.
  • Develop and maintain effective behavioral management and intervention techniques with individual and/or groups of students and provide assistance in meeting educations, occupational, and personal needs.
  • Provide individual and small group activities designed to improve interpersonal relationships and social skills for students attending an Alternative Education Program (AEP).
  • Participate in the Response to Intervention (RtI) process and Early Intervention Team (EIT) meetings to address academic and behavioral issues with identified students.
  • Conference with parents, administrators, and teachers concerning school and student issues.
  • Conduct home visits as needed.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments
  • Certified as a school counselor in the state of Texas, or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or licensed and a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology or other related area preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience as a special education teacher, in related social work, or in work related to the certified field.
  • Experience working with students including implementing behavior management strategies.
