Job summary

Synova Group is hiring an Experienced Direct Support Professional (Behavioral Support) in Brooklyn Park, MN. The DSP will provide one-on-one support to an adult with significant behavioral needs, including crisis intervention and positive behavior support strategies, within home and community settings.

The role emphasizes independence, community participation, and consistent supervision, with training conducted at the Brooklyn Park office.

Qualifications

Be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and maintain a clean driving record.
Have access to an insured vehicle.
Successfully pass a DHS background study.
Have basic computer skills for documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

Build meaningful relationships and support individuals in developing friendships and community connections.
Assist with daily routines such as cooking, household tasks, personal care, hygiene, social activities, and leisure activities.
Administer medications according to training and company procedures.
Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings.
Document services, activities, and important events using an online documentation system.
Encourage independence while providing the level of support each individual needs.
