Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services in San Jose–Peninsula area, CA is hiring for a Behavioral Support Aide to work with children and adults with developmental delays and challenging behaviors. The role provides one-to-one behavioral intervention services, data collection, and support across daily activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in educational or healthcare settings preferred.
• At least 1 year working with individuals with special needs who display challenging behaviors.
• College coursework in psychology, education or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one behavioral intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges.
• Assist with daily program activities in self-help, communication, social, cognitive and motor skills.
• Assist with personal care activities including bathing, feeding, dressing and mobility as needed.
• Implement and collect data on behaviors and goals per the Behavior Support Plan.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one-behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges
• Provides/assists with daily program activities in the areas of self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor and behavior and crisis intervention
• Assist client with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, preparation and feeding of meals, dressing and undressing, ambulation and other activities as needed
• Implement and collect data of the behaviors and goals outlined in the Behavior Support Plan

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous experience working in an educational or healthcare setting preferred
• At least one year of experience working with children/adults with special needs who display challenging or aggressive behaviors
• College coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences or related field preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
