Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Specialist to provide support in Butler, PA. The role uses best practices and technology within a community-based setting to help individuals with developmental disabilities acquire physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills for independence.

The position requires crisis management ability, staff training, and collaboration with an Inter-Disciplinary Team. Starting pay is $55,000 annually with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with one year of experience in behavior support planning.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Complete state and agency required trainings per guidelines.
• Ability to build supportive relationships with individuals receiving supports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and exercise good judgment in crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Observe and interact with individuals.
• Create prevention and support plans.
• Complete functional assessments.
• Train staff on plan implementation.
• Prepare progress reports for the IDT / support group.
• Participate in IDT and Individual Habilitation Plan development.
• Attend staff meetings across locations.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections.
• Background checks and drug testing completion is required.
