Community Options, Inc. is hiring a Behavioral Specialist in Camp Hill, PA to provide support in a community-based setting. The role focuses on teaching individuals with developmental disabilities essential skills for independent living, using best practices and technology.

The successful candidate will work with a flexible schedule and respond to crisis situations, while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. Starting pay is $55,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 1 year of experience developing behavior support plans.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines.
• Commitment to community-based supports for persons with disabilities.
• Understanding of local regulatory agency operations.
• Experience solving problems across multiple priorities.
• Ability to establish a comfortable, supportive relationship with individuals.
• Ability to remain calm and exercise good judgment in crisis situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management.

Responsibilities

• Observe and interact with individuals.
• Create prevention plans and support plans.
• Complete functional assessments.
• Train staff on implementation of plans.
• Prepare progress reports for the individual's immediate support group.
• Serve as an active member of each person’s IDT, including IDT development of Individual Habilitation Plan.
• Attend staff meetings for various locations.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff in inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
