Community Options, Inc. is hiring a Behavioral Specialist to provide support in East Windsor, NJ. The role focuses on teaching independent living skills to individuals with developmental disabilities using best practices in a community-based setting.

The position requires a Masters degree with relevant experience and a valid driver’s license. Starting Salary: 55K. Responsibilities include developing support plans, training staff, and active participation in IDT with cross-location meetings.

Qualifications

• Masters’ degree with one year of experience in developing behavior support plans and teaching staff to implement plans.

Responsibilities

• Observe and interact with individuals
• Create prevention plans and support plans
• Complete functional assessments
• Train staff on implementation of plans; prepare progress reports
• Serve on Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT) involvement in IDP development
• Attend staff meetings for various locations
• Cooperate with licensing, department staff during inspections/inquiries
• Criminal background/registry/drug checks required prior to employment
