Job summary

The Center for Discovery in New York State is seeking a Behavior Specialist/Analyst to provide behavior intervention services using applied behavior analysis and evidence-based strategies. Primary duties include conducting functional behavior assessments, delivering hands-on skills training, and supporting staff with consultation and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, ABA, or related field required.
• BCBA certification preferred.
• Experience working with school-aged children/adolescents (ages 5-21) with autism preferred.

We offer residential, medical, clinical, and special education programs to over 1,200 children, adults, and families annually.

The Behavior Specialist/Analyst provides behavior intervention services for identified individuals using principles of applied behavior analysis and other evidence-based strategies. Primary duties include conducting behavioral assessments (functional behavior assessments and analysis), providing hands‑on intensive skills training, and staff consultation and training.

Applicants must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in large teams. Must be flexible and organized.

This is a 12-month position with flexible schedule that may require some weekend and evening hours.

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, ABA, or other related field

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Preferred

Experience working with school‑aged children/adolescents (ages 5-21) with autism required.

Experience In Behavior Analysis Is Preferred

12-month position, 5-8 hour days
