Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine seeks a Lab/Research Technician (Hourly) to support the Pharmacology and Toxicology program. You will manage mouse colonies, prepare drugs, administer intraperitoneal and subcutaneous injections, and conduct behavioral assays to assess monoamine transporter function in mouse models.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent and a related undergraduate degree.
• Preferred: experience with mouse colonies, rodent handling, and drug administration.
• Experience performing behavioral assays in mouse models is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage mouse colonies and handle mice for experiments.
• Prepare drugs and administer intraperitoneal/subcutaneous injections.
• Conduct behavioral assays (e.g., place conditioning, Y-maze, tail withdrawal, hot-plate, locomotor tests).
• Document results, coordinate with lab managers, and maintain lab records.
