Job summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking a part-time Behavioral Observer at Cleveland Heights Health Center to provide continuous patient observation under the direction of an RN. Observations may be in-person or via video monitoring as needed, with strict adherence to patient safety protocols.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma (or equivalent), BLS certification, and completed training per MetroHealth requirements, with preference for medical/nursing students or those with prior

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• Must complete training as prescribed by MetroHealth prior to performing job responsibilities.
• Basic computer skills to document observations electronically.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association, or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Existing Behavioral Observers should possess certification by 12/31/2017.
• Preferred: currently enrolled as a medical or nursing student; prior healthcare experience with patient care.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), provides constant patient observation for more than one patient as needed.
• Observations may be conducted in-person or via video monitoring system.
