Telecare is seeking a Behavioral Hospital Program Administrator for the Santa Cruz, CA area. This on-site, full-time role manages clinical and financial success across the 4 Pillars of performance and leads a team delivering inpatient psychiatric care.

Starting wage is $156,572.96–$193,421.22 with a $10,000 sign-on bonus or relocation assistance. On-call rotations and driving requirements apply. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Services or Public Health preferred.
• Four years of experience in an administrative management position in a health care setting (inpatient psych experience preferred).
• Two years of supervising professional staff, budgeting, and program planning.
• Understanding of community mental health services, psychiatric rehabilitation concepts, and Recovery Philosophy.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• CPR, First Aid, and CPI certification required at or before employment.

Responsibilities

The Santa Cruz County Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is a 16-bed locked acute psychiatric inpatient program for adults aged 18+, diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI), experiencing a mental health emergency and require intensive treatment and support.

What You Will Do to Change Lives

The Administrator is a key position in driving the organization’s success. They are responsible for both clinical and financial success of their Program which contributes the overall success of both Telecare and those we serve. The individual in this role is responsible for overseeing and leading the team of people providing patient care as well as managing the business operations of the Program. They are responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Program, which involves ensuring successful management and leadership over the 4 Pillars of performance: Clinical Quality, Workforce Engagement, Customer Satisfaction, and Financial Security. Additionally, the Administrator collaborates with all corporate functions and outside consultants and representatives of the program to State/County agencies, community partners, and consumer groups. Employees in this role are required to participate in a structured on-call rotation, remaining accessible and prepared to respond to work-related needs within a designated timeframe. Rotations are scheduled in advance. While on-call, employees must actively monitor communications (e.g., phone, email) and respond in accordance with operational protocols.

Shifts Available: This role requires you to work onsite in Santa, Cruz, CA

Full-Time: Monday- Friday 8:00 AM– 5:00 PM; days and hours could vary as this is an inpatient hospital. Will also include on call Rotation

Expected starting wage range is $156,572.96 - $193,421.22 Plus $10,000 Sign-on Bonus or Relocation Assistance. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Social Services or Public Health
• Four (4) years of experience in an administrative management position in a health care setting. Must have inpatient psych experience. Prefer Joint Commission experience
• Two (2) years of responsibility of supervising professional staff, budgeting, program planning, and licensing
• Must understand community mental health services, psychiatric rehabilitation concepts, and the Recovery Philosophy
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and CPI certified (hands‑on course) on date of employment or prior to providing direct client care and maintain current certification throughout employment
• All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post‑offer physical examination, 2‑step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual or local requirements may apply.
