Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to provide direct patient care for behavioral health and chemically dependent patients, supporting safety and comfort. The role may include ED Technician duties as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate must have an associates or bachelor’s degree in relevant fields and BLS certification, with either 1 year of behavioral health experience or 3 years in inpatient psychiatric settings, to join a patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related behavioral health field with 1 year of experience in behavioral health, or 3 years in inpatient psychiatric settings.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and supportive services to behavioral health patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Assist in maintaining the therapeutic milieu and may fulfill duties of an Emergency Department Technician as needed.

Provides direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders as well as chemically dependent patients to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients. Carries out a variety of patient care activities which support the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu, and which meet the patient's needs for comfort and safety. May also perform the duties and responsibilities of an Emergency Department Technician.

Required

• Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other behavioral health related fields, with one (1) year of experience in the behavioral health field setting, OR three (3) years of experience in inpatient psychiatric settings.
