The Chaldean Community Foundation (CCF) improves the stability, health, and wellness of those we serve through advocacy, acculturation, community development and cultural preservation.

The Chaldean Community Foundation is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist to join its Sterling Heights location. The ideal candidate is fluent in English, Arabic and Chaldean/Aramaic.

Under the direction of the Behavioral Health Program Manager, the behavioral health therapist provides outpatient therapeutic services to individuals with identified mental health, substance abuse, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities. Outpatient therapy includes psychoeducational activities/interventions designed to assist the client in building or improving problem solving skills and functionality. Services are provided with client-centered and family-centered approaches and are delivered through time-limited, goal specific interventions.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions to the identified client to enhance and foster the client’s optimal functioning and interactions in the home and community.
• To continually assess client needs, service availability and appropriateness.
• To work cooperatively with treatment team members and the family in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the Person-Centered Treatment Plan.
• To provide the appropriate documentation for service delivery including treatment goals,
progress notes and billing and submit said documentation as specified by third-party payers and CCF’s standards.
• Participates in the Quality Improvement Program and other staff meetings and initiatives.
• Adheres to CCF’s policies and procedures.
• Supports the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of CCF.
• Implements clinical practices in accordance with principles of evidence-based practices and co-occurring integrated care.
• Works closely with and provides behavioral health support to CCF’s staff, as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the organization.
• Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner to outside organizations and county and state bodies.
• Ability to understand and work with managed care principles and to translate same to
staff.
• Ability to ensure the delivery of quality services to clients.
• Ability to analyze and appraise facts and precedents in making administrative decisions.

Education and Experience

• A Master’s degree is required.
• Full license in good standing (LMSW) strongly preferred.
• Limited License (LLMSW) will be considered.
• License LLPC, LPC and LLP will be considered.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasional standing and walking around the office.
• Regular bending and reaching may be required.
• Ability to lift or carry items up to 15 pounds at times.
• Ability to operate office equipment.
