Description
Position Summary: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides specialized behavioral services directed by a detailed treatment plan and under the supervision of a BC, who is responsible for the treatment plan.
Summary of Essential Position Functions:
- Provide one-on-one behavioral interventions to clients.
- Assist parent/caregiver and/or teacher with implementation of behavior plan.
- Monitor client behaviors emphasized in the treatment plan; intervene and redirect challenging behaviors.
- Collaborate with team members and work in transferring skills to others.
- Attend monthly treatment team meetings with clients, families, and the treatment team.
- Provide services within authorized hours and complete all paperwork within policy time frames.
- Attend staff meetings and mandatory training sessions, complying with all IBHS policies.
- Complete required training hours: 20 hours/year for experienced BHTs; 39 hours within the first 6 months for new hires.
- Less than 6 months of experience: receive 6 hours of on-site assessment & assistance; more than 6 months: 3 hours of assessment/assistance.
- Develop therapeutic rapport with clients and families.
- Attend weekly supervision with a master’s level mental health professional.
- Travel to client sites (100% travel required).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, and either:
- Completed a 40-hour RBT training (free of charge), or
- At least two years of experience providing Behavioral Health Services.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field (Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, or similar), and either:
- Completed a 40-hour RBT training, or
- At least two years of experience providing Behavioral Health Services.
