General Summary
Assists the professional staff in the care of psychiatric patients. Facilitates the maintenance of the therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit.

Job Description
Part-time, Evenings
3-11:30pm
Every-other-weekend
16 hrs/2 weeks

Responsibilities

  • Provides care to patients considering safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
  • Assists team members in patient care and evaluation.
  • Helps patients with activities of daily living.
  • Checks patient's vital signs and charts observations accurately following hospital procedures.
  • May apply physical restraints or assist with patient seclusion under supervision.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles relevant to the patient age group.
  • Ensures safety by complying with regulations, reporting errors, and participating in safety programs.
  • Maintains policies, quality standards, and infection control measures.
  • Engages in professional development and provides excellent service, fostering teamwork and fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; preferred Certificate Program Certified Nursing Assistant or some college social science coursework.
  • Less than 1 year relevant experience required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required upon hire; Certified Nurse Aide preferred.
  • Must provide clearance per Child Protective Services Law upon hire.
