Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers in Mooresville, NC is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide essential peer and operational care within substance use treatment programs. This on-site, per-diem role places you with patients, helping ensure safety and connection throughout their recovery journey.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will monitor patients, conduct safety checks, assist with tests, and coordinate with therapy staff to address clinical concerns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent or higher.
• Safe driving record with a clean DMV report for the last 3 years.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to comply with motor vehicle insurance requirements
• Relevant behavioral health certification, preferred.
• Work experience in the field of substance use disorder or mental health treatment.

Responsibilities

• Patient Supervision and Safety: Monitor patients and facility grounds, conduct safety checks, and communicate with medical staff for attention needs.
• Waive Testing: Measure and report vital signs, conduct UDS and pregnancy tests, and comply with company policies.
• Patient Interaction and Support: Maintain respectful and professional interactions with patients, offering emotional support, referring clinical concerns to therapy staff.
• Communication and Team Collaboration: Share relevant patient information with the Team Leader, Supervisor/Operations Director while collaborating with the team to ensure high-quality care.
• Daily Program and Facility Management: Assist in patient transport, group coordination, and recreational activities.
