Position: Specialized Behavioral Personal Assistant

We are seeking Direct Support Professionals, college students in Child Development, Special Education, Psychology, or Applied Behavior Analysis, Classroom Assistants, DSP II, Behavioral Interventionists, and energetic individuals with experience working with children and/or adults with challenging behaviors.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing specialized behavioral respite services
• Communicating care updates to relevant parties
• Collaborating with clients and families for optimal care
• Following behavior support plans
• Maintaining data via notes and data collection as required
• Keeping client records in compliance with regulations

The main duty is to work with and implement behavior support plans to assist individuals with behavior challenges, while supporting their circle of support. This position does NOT include housekeeping or medical duties such as medication administration or pulse checks. Assistance with toileting or bathing may be needed, and staff may heat items but not prepare meals.

Qualifications:

• At least 6 months experience working with persons with developmental challenges
• High school diploma with 30 hours of BCBA-designed training or an Associate’s Degree in relevant fields
• Compassionate and caring demeanor
• Ability to build rapport and engage clients
• Excellent communication skills
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Current TB test
• Background check upon hire
• Valid CA Driver's License and auto insurance
• Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
