Job summary

Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to support nurses and treatment teams by building rapport with patients and facilitating the therapeutic milieu. Shifts include days and nights, with weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

You will assist with daily living tasks, document care, orient patients, monitor safety, participate in group activities, and help maintain a safe environment per the treatment plan.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required for healthcare providers.
• Preferred: CNA or EMT.
• Post high school education in social work, psychology, sociology, family studies, or a health sciences field.
• Experience working with psychiatric or chemically dependent patients.
• Experience providing behavioral healthcare services to patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living tasks and document delegated care.
• Orient patients to the Behavioral Health unit or program and assist with transportation as needed.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to clinical staff and support staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow the multidisciplinary treatment plan.
• Participate in regulatory duties and quality improvement activities.
