Job summary

Community Counseling Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician in Cape Girardeau, MO. This full-time role supports adult and pediatric programs, promoting safety and therapeutic care while documenting observations and collaborating with the treatment team.

You will work evening or overnight shifts with pay for Adult and Children's programs, and may take on floater or PRN responsibilities. A driver's license and reliable transport are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED/HSE required.
• Preference for 2 years' healthcare or mental health experience or an undergraduate degree.
• Must hold MO Class E Driver's License and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to clients ensuring safety and a therapeutic environment based on trauma-informed care.
• Promote daily living activities and self-care tasks for residents.
• Teach functional living skills such as anger management and communication.
• Coordinate with the treatment team to plan and deliver care.
• Document client observations and follow policies for charting.
• Perform checks of belongings, rooms, and grounds per policy.
• Ensure patient safety and respond to medical emergencies or elopements.
• Transport clients to and from appointments as needed.
• Intervene in behavioral health crises for adult and pediatric programs.
• Distribute medications and report any errors per protocol.
