Community Counseling Center in Cape Girardeau, MO is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician to oversee client safety and well-being, support skill-building, and participate in groups and crisis interventions. This non-exempt role offers evening and overnight shifts with relevant shift differentials.

A strong communicator with at least a high school diploma and healthcare or mental health exposure is preferred; drivers must have MO Class E license and reliable transportation. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED/HSE required.
• Preference given to 2 years healthcare/mental health experience or an undergrad degree.
• Must hold or obtain MO Class E Driver's License (Class D for IL residents) and proof of insurance; meet MVR standards and have reliable transportation.
• Note: Class E is a written test; no driving test required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to clients in a safe, therapeutic environment using a trauma-informed approach.
• Educate clients on daily living activities and self-care tasks.
• Teach functional living skills and coping strategies per treatment plan.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate client care.
• Document and chart client observations per policy.
• Conduct checks of belongings, rooms, and grounds.
• Monitor clients and respond to emergencies following policy.
• Transport clients to appointments as needed.
• Intervene in behavioral health crises (Adult Program) and (Children's Program).
• Distribute medications and report errors per policy (Adult Program).
• Document in compliance with DMH, CARF, and other standards.
