Job summary

Centerstone is a trusted non-profit behavioral health system headquartered in the United States. The Walk-in Center and Crisis Stabilization Unit seek a dedicated staff member to provide peer and crisis support, promote wellness and recovery, and document client interactions.

Night shifts run 7pm–7am in Clarksville, TN, with trauma-informed care guiding service delivery. Responsibilities include training in de-escalation, taking vital signs, safety checks, and using basic technology for

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; peer specialist preferred.
• 1 year of relevant experience in a mental health-related field.
• Effective written, verbal, in-person and virtual communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual crisis support and wellness interventions.
• Obtain vital signs and report results to nursing staff.
• Conduct 15-minute safety checks and monitor client well-being.
• Supervise and assist clients during shift; secure belongings.
• De-escalate clients using evidence-based techniques when needed.
• Utilize data entry and shift documentation systems.
• Obtain CPR, First Aid and AED training for client safety.

Provides peer and crisis support services, information, education and support for clients. Promotes wellness, recovery and skill building through group and individual interventions.Night Shift 7p-7aESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProvides training and interventions in both group and individual settings, focusing on the improvement of the client’s functioning and health-related issues.Obtains vital signs and reports results to nursing.Completes 15-minute safety checks.Provides assistance, supervision and interaction to client throughout work shift.Inventories, documents and secures client belongings.Ability to de-escalate clients using evidence-based de-escalation training, ie. Therapeutic Options, to include safety holds, as necessary.Use of basic technology, such as data entry and documentation of vital signs and shift notes.Obtains CPR, First Aid, and AED training to provide assistance to clients as needed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESEffectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.Knowledge of community resources.Basic computer skillsSkill in crisis intervention (preferred)QUALIFICATIONSEducation LevelHigh School diploma or equivalent; Certified peer recovery specialist preferredYears of ExperienceOne year of relevant job experience required, preferably in mental related field.
