Job summary

Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Sheridan, WY seeks a Mental Health Technician to support the Path Behavioral Health Center. You’ll provide direct patient care, maintain a therapeutic milieu, and assist with crisis intervention while coordinating with nurses, therapists, and security.

Strong communication, professionalism, and calm response in high-stress situations are essential. BLS and Central Registry are required, with weekend and night shifts common.

Qualifications

• Wyoming CNA license or related degree is required.
• Minimum one year of behavioral health, healthcare, or related experience preferred.
• BLS certification and Central Registry are required.
• De-escalation training due within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct observation and supervision of behavioral health patients per physician orders.
• Support therapeutic milieu and assist with daily operations.
• Assist with admission, discharge, transfer, and room preparation.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in safety checks, crisis intervention, and de-escalation.
• Collaborate with nursing, providers, therapists, and security to ensure patient safety.
