Job summary

Sound is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician to provide direct, recovery-oriented support in a licensed residential treatment setting in Seattle, WA. The role requires an active HCA or CNA credential, First Aid/CPR, and TB screening, with duties spanning daily living support, documentation, and crisis response.

We offer multiple shifts (1 day, 2 swing) with a focus on compassionate, professional, person-centered care within a collaborative clinical team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, residential treatment, or social services.
• Active credential with WA State Department of Health as Home Care Aide (HCA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Current Food Handler’s Permit required or within 30 days of hire.
• TB screening completed per state requirements.
• Completion of required training per WA state requirements.
• Valid WA driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Criminal background check completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and support to residents in a behavioral health residential setting.
• Support activities of daily living and engagement in the residential milieu.
• Observe, document, and report resident behavior, mood, functioning, and health-related concerns to nursing and supervisory staff.
• Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation and safety techniques.
• Support therapeutic, recreational, and skill-building activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in all interactions and documentation.
• Collaborate with clinical, nursing, and supervisory staff to support coordinated care.
• Complete required documentation accurately and within established timeframes.
