Job summary

Haven Behavioral Healthcare in Ohio seeks a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu and deliver patient care within the BHT scope.

You will perform vital signs, assist with ADLs, monitor safety, document observations, and communicate needs to the licensed nurses, while following Joint Commission and policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Continually monitors and supports compliance within unit rules.
• Employs de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Inventories patient belongings and secures contraband; performs safety checks.
• Follows infection control policies and attends required in-services.
• Performs patient care activities under supervision; takes vital signs and assists with ADL.
• Assists with meals, mobility, and daily activities; supports at-risk patients.
• Documents observations accurately; communicates findings to nursing staff.
• Reports outcomes and ensures continuity of care with the team.
