Bryan Health in Lincoln, NE seeks a paraprofessional to join the interdisciplinary treatment team, assisting in the care and treatment of psychiatric and chemically dependent patients under supervision of the nurse or counselor.

You will support activities of daily living, document patient information, transport patients, and help maintain a therapeutic milieu across age groups from children to adults. Training in CPR and trauma-informed care is required.

Qualifications

• Maintains clinical competency for units including age-specific needs and annual skill verification.
• Knowledge of adult and youth psychosocial development.
• Knowledge of psychiatric, alcoholism and drug dependency treatment.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software relevant to work functions.
• Ability to interact with interdisciplinary team and community resources.
• Ability to communicate with patients, families, and other staff.
• Ability to be courteous and professional with callers and visitors.
• Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

• Provides close observation as directed to prevent wandering or injury.
• Performs clerical duties including scheduling and communications.
• Handles patient admissions, transfers, and related tasks.
• Performs special observations for at-risk patients.
• Applies and monitors restraints per policy.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Documents attendance and patient behavior in medical records.
• Transports medications from pharmacy to unit and deliveries to patients.
• Maintains professional growth and participates in meetings and projects.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
