Quail Run Hospital in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to provide continuous patient care and support to adolescents through geriatrics, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

You will work as part of the treatment team, applying interventions, monitoring patient progress, and modeling positive behaviors within a therapeutic environment. This role offers growth opportunities within the UHS family.

Qualifications

Job Description

Behavioral Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescents through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. BHT’S work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Observations: Take and record vital signs properly. Monitor each patient’s location per the Observation Policy and Procedure.
• Treatment Planning: Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient. Ensure awareness of patient's individualized plan of care including goals and interventions.
• Milieu Management: Comply with the established policies and procedures requiring a safe, clean and therapeutic environment. Practice universal precautions and environmental safety guidelines. Recognize and respond to priorities in patient care responsibilities.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in the field of behavioral health preferred.
• Experience working in psychiatric setting strongly preferred.
• Handle With Care and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Providers required. Training provided at the facility.
• Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire.
