Job summary

Quail Run Hospital, a Quail Run Behavioral Health unit, in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (Intake) to join the treatment team. The role supports admission processes, patient supervision, and direct care across age ranges as directed by a Registered Nurse.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; one year of psychiatric setting experience is preferred. BLS and Level 1 fingerprint clearance are required or obtainable within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in behavioral health preferred.
• 1 year of experience in psychiatric setting required.
• Handle With Care and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Providers required; training provided at the facility.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Level 1 or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Accurately check in patients upon arrival and promptly enter required demographic and clinical information into the EMR to initiate and support admission.
• Take and record vital signs promptly and ensure patient safety through continuous supervision.
• Monitor each patient’s location per the Observation Policy and Procedure and observe and document any changes in appearance, behavior, or progress toward treatment goals.

Job Description

Behavioral Heath Technician (Intake) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescents through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. BHT’s work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Accurately check in patients upon arrival and promptly enter required demographic and clinical information into the electronic medical record to initiate and support the admission process in a timely and efficient manner.


• Take and record vital signs promptly and ensure patient safety through continuous supervision of patient.


• Monitor each patient’s location per the Observation Policy and Procedure and utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and documents any changes in a patient's appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
