Job summary

The organization is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) and Youth Counselor to support daily groups, safety, and program adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field related to behavioral health.
• Associate's degree with at least two years of full-time behavioral health experience.
• High school diploma or GED with four years of full-time behavioral health work experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans with the Shift Supervisor & Shift Leader and carries out scheduled groups with students.
• Maintains oral and written communication with staff, clients, and others as requested.
• Assists clients in setting daily goals and supports them through their program.
• Supervises clients in accordance with CGA protocols (Joint Commission, OBHL, and agency requirements).
• With permission, carries out activities: games, sports, projects, etc. with clients in following the daily schedule.
• Ensures safety of all clients, staff, and visitors.
• Follows all CGA rules and norms and is supportive of the Phoenix Club (PC).
• May be needed to assist in client transports in CGA vehicles.
• Demonstrates proper methods of cleaning and organizing with the clients.
• Follows and ensures safety regulations: maintains order, settles disputes, conducts routine head count, checks for safe environment, and prevents the client from harming self and others.
• Keeps records and may complete incident reports (if applicable).
• Exemplifies appropriate role model through physical appearance, social skills, professional words and acts, sets clear professional boundaries.
• Confronts all negative behavior and communicates with all staff.
• Additional duties are determined by the Shift Supervisor or Milieu Manager.

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Job

Casa Grande Academy is looking for a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) and Youth Counselor positions.

Shift/ Hours:

3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am, weekdays and weekends

Requirements

• Plans with the Shift Supervisor & Shift Leader and carries out scheduled groups with students.
• Maintains oral and written communication with staff, clients, and others as requested. In essence, communication is vital to this position and is viewed as a direct reflection of the BHT.
• Assists clients in setting daily goals and support them through their program.
• Supervises clients in accordance with CGA protocols (Joint Commission, OBHL, and agency requirements).
• With permission, carries out activities: games, sports, projects, etc. with clients in following the daily schedule.
• Ensures safety of all clients, staff, and visitors.

Adheres to CGA policy and practice concerning creation, editing, transmission, storage, and disposition of all Protected Health Information in compliance with HIPAA.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Has a bachelor's degree in a field related to behavioral health: or
• Has an associate's degree and at least two years of full-time behavioral health work experience; or
• Has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and four years of full-time behavioral health work experience

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Education: Bachelor's Degree, High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: Experience in the behavioral health field is preferred.
• Other Skills: Must maintain flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment.
