Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Clinical Support staff member to help maintain a therapeutic milieu and support patient comfort and safety in a busy behavioral health setting.

You will perform clinical duties, assist with feeding, hygiene, and activities, monitor patient status, and communicate with the care team to ensure timely responses to changes in patient conditions. This role requires discretion and teamwork in a high‑stakes environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or 2 years college preferred.
• Two years hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain initial patient information and document on assessment forms.
• Assist with unit orientation and patient rights discussion.
• Conduct patient safety checks and searches per policy.
• Assist with lab specimen collection and transport to lab.
• Support milieu through group activities and therapeutic interactions.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to Charge Nurse.
• Assist with discharge documentation and unit log entries.
