Job summary

UNC Hospitals BHED seeks Behavioral Health Technicians to join the team and provide direct patient care for psychiatric patients. Under supervision, you will aid with admissions, orientation, and ongoing care while maintaining safety and therapeutic engagement in a 24/7 unit.

You must be a Certified Nursing Assistant with at least 1 year in a behavioral health setting, plus CPI and BLS certifications. The role offers full-time hours (36 per week) and rotates weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be CN A and have 1 year in a behavioral health or neurosciences unit.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, supportive environment for psychiatric patients under RN supervision.
• Participate in routine admissions and orient patients and families to the unit.
