Job summary

The Wood Group Behavioral Health Services in Waco, TX is seeking a compassionate PRN Behavioral Health Technician to join our crisis facility team. This part-time, on-site role offers flexible scheduling to support individuals in mental health crises, with PRN shifts as needed for call outs.

You will help ensure resident safety, assist with meals, maintain a clean environment, document daily charts, and support medication procedures while upholding dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in behavioral health or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in mental health, behavioral health, or social services advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
• Knowledge of behavioral health practices, safety protocols, and crisis intervention techniques.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals. Follow the facility menu as posted.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment in accordance with facility policies.
• Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Responsible for the supervision of all resident medication procedures. Ensure that all residents receive their proper medication at the proper time. All narcotics will be counted and documented on each shift.
• Daily chart documentation.
• Be familiar with The Wood Group's policy and procedures to include employee handbook.
• Flexibility to work on an as need basis (PRN).
