Job summary

The Wood Group is seeking a compassionate PRN Behavioral Health Technician to join our crisis facility team in Texas. This role offers flexible scheduling and the chance to support residents in acute mental health crises, promoting safety and dignity in a fast-paced environment.

You will monitor safety, assist with meals, document daily notes, supervise medication procedures, and follow facility policies. Prior experience in mental health is valued, with paid training provided and opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification in behavioral health or related field preferred.
• Experience or familiarity with crisis intervention is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Empathy, patience and a genuine desire to help others are critical.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals and follow the facility menu.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment per facility policies.
• Treat all residents with dignity and respect.
• Supervise resident medication procedures and document administration.
• Complete daily chart documentation.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Behavioral Health Technician to join our crisis facility team. • PRN shifts (as needed for call outs)

Below are a few job duties to expect as a Behavioral Health Tech:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals. Follow the facility menu as posted.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment in accordance with facility policies
• Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Responsible for the supervision of all resident medication procedures. Ensure that all residents receive their proper medication at the proper time. All narcotics will be counted and documented on each shift.
• Daily chart documentation
• Be familiar with The Wood Group’s policy and procedures to include employee handbook.
• Flexibility to work on an as need basis (PRN)

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Additional certification in behavioral health or related field preferred
• Prior experience in mental health, behavioral health, or social services is advantageous
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others
• Knowledge of behavioral health practices, safety protocols, and crisis intervention techniques
