Role Overview

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) observes and monitors patients in treatment, reports as indicated, and assists with patient activities. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment and supporting facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and enforce facility program rules fairly and professionally.
• Report patient behavior to supervisor and clinical team promptly.
• Use verbal de-escalation techniques to address problem behaviors.
• Adhere to time schedules.
• Maintain healthy professional boundaries with patients and staff.
• Ensure documentation is timely, consistent, clear, accurate, and legible.
• Keep clinical records secure at all times.

Schedule

12‑hour shifts. Applications accepted for all shifts and hours.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Coursework or degree in behavioral health or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or related field preferred.
• Prior direct customer or client service experience in healthcare, human services, or a related field strongly preferred.
• CNA, MA, Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT), Mental Health Technician Certification (MHTC), or trauma‑informed care training/certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with adult patients (18+).
• Good driving record meeting safety and company insurance standards.
• CPR and Standard First Aid certification preferred.
