Job summary

Renew Recovery Center in Sacramento, CA is seeking Behavioral Health Technicians to provide hands-on support to clients as they move through detox, residential care, and early recovery. You’ll help ensure safety, model healthy coping strategies, and foster a respectful, healing environment.

Ideal candidates stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and work well with teams. A HS diploma or GED is required; CPR/First Aid and crisis management training are provided if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or related field preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, and crisis de-escalation training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client safety and supervision at all times in accordance with care plans and facility policies.
• Build positive rapport and engage clients in daily routines, recovery-oriented activities, and peer support.
• Co-lead or support group sessions focused on life skills, coping strategies, and personal development.
• Monitor client behaviors and report observations to clinical staff.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, transportation, and shift transitions.
• Document interactions, incidents, and behavioral observations in real time.
• Respond to crisis situations using trained de-escalation techniques.
• Participate in team meetings, staff trainings, and continuous quality improvement efforts.

You’ll ensure safety, model healthy coping strategies, and create a consistent and respectful environment that promotes healing and growth.

Who You Are

You’re someone who stays calm in stressful situations, communicates clearly, and treats others with kindness and respect. You may have experience in behavioral health or working with vulnerable populations, or you may be looking to start a career in recovery services. A high school diploma or GED is required, and training in CPR, First Aid, and crisis management will be provided if you don’t already have it.
