Job summary

Liberty Healthcare Corporation is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician to support forensic mental health services at the Illinois Department of Human Services Treatment and Detention Facility in Rushville, IL. The role emphasizes intake/discharge processes, psychoeducational programming, and family communication.

You will join a clinical team of psychologists, social workers, counselors, and technicians providing care to residents in a secure setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
• Ability to provide psycho-educational programming to individuals and groups.
• Knowledge of behavioral health treatment modalities.
• Individuals with Master’s degree encouraged to apply and may be eligible for promotion.

Responsibilities

• Participate in intake orientation meetings with new residents
• Participate in discharge meetings with residents transitioning into the community
• Co-facilitate psychoeducational skills groups with licensed clinicians
• Communicate with family members of residents
• Administrative duties and document clinical services and resident progress
• Training and consulting with facility security staff
• Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, case conferences and training activities

Job description

Experienced and aspiring mental health professionals are encouraged to consider a full-time Behavioral Health Technician position with Liberty Healthcare at the Illinois Department of Human Services Treatment and Detention Facility.

Program Description

The Treatment and Detention Facility provides specialized forensic mental health services in a secure residential setting to adults who have a history of committing sexual offenses.

The treatment program focuses on the individual needs of each client and treats everyone respectfully, with dignity, and with the belief that all people can change and achieve improved health and wellbeing.

Liberty Healthcare’s clinical team is comprised of over forty Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Behavioral Technicians, Recreation Therapists and ancillary professionals who collectively serve over five hundred clients.

Responsibilities

• Participating in intake orientation meetings with new residents
• Participating in discharge meetings with residents who are transitioning into the community
• Co-facilitating psychoeducational skills groups with licensed clinicians
• Communicating with family members of residents
• Administrative duties and documenting clinical services and resident / client progress
• Training and consulting with facility security staff
• Attending and actively participating in staff meetings, case conferences and training activities

Work setting and schedule

• You have the option of working five 8-hour days per week or a compressed work week with four 10-hour days
• You will work onsite at the Treatment and Detention Facility at 17019 County Farm Rd. in Rushville, IL 62681

Compensation And Benefits

• Salary range of $45,000 to $55,000 (depending on degree and experience)
• 240 hours of paid time off annually for vacation, sick and personal time plus 10 paid holidays
