Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician

Base: Dignity Hall Housing

Direct Report: BHT Team Lead

Job Purpose Summary:

• Responsible for monitoring the safety, security, sobriety, and transportation of Victory Bay’s clients, who are in various levels of treatment for mental health.

Core Functions:

• Transportation
• Crisis Intervention
• Behavioral Management
• UDS Screening
• Relationship Building

Responsibilities Include:

• Monitor and direct the daily schedule of clients, including performing tasks and staying on schedule to attend all treatment and activities. Organization and punctuality are key.
• Transport clients to treatment facilities and back to Victory Bay residence, complying with driving guidelines and approved routes.
• Work alongside clinical staff to aid in the implementation of treatment plan goals.
• Assist in implementing specific behavioral interventions such as coping skills, emotional regulation, and behavioral modification techniques.
• Foster a compassionate yet accountable environment that meets clients' needs.
• Monitor clients and record observations in shift notes, reporting on progress and concerns.
• Respond to client needs, including crisis intervention and de-escalation.
• Monitor clients for intoxication/drug use and administer urine analysis and breathalyzer tests on scheduled days.
• Relieve previous shift staff and confer regarding issues and concerns.
• Conduct client intakes and assist with paperwork.
• Maintain and control company keys.
• Monitor clients and direct them to group sessions or appointments as needed.
• Build relationships with clients and model healthy communication.
• Manage and defuse conflicts impartially and respectfully, reminding clients of rules and consequences.
• Maintain professional boundaries and a healthy demeanor.
• Adhere to scheduled transports and arrive punctually.
• Communicate with the supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Required education: BHT Certificate, Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health preferred; high school diploma or equivalent with mental health training or experience accepted.

Required experience: 2-4 years in a Mental Health Treatment Facility.

Physical requirements:

• Lift 20-50 lbs.

Licenses or certifications: Can obtain through Victory Bay after hiring if not already held.
