Rockford Center in Newark, DE is hiring a Full-time Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide direct patient care across geriatrics to children with psychiatric disorders. 8-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday, and orientation during the first two weeks.

You will monitor patients, participate in treatment planning, assist admissions, orient new patients, plan group therapy, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Psychology or similar; strong communication and organization skills.
Two years of related experience in behavioral health preferred.
CPR certification and completion of Handle with Care training during orientation.

Responsibilities

Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned.
Participate in treatment planning.
Assist in the admission process.
Orient new patients to the unit and their program.

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or similar previous experience with adults in a behavioral health setting. Strong communication skills, excellent customer service and organization skills, highly effective listening skills and strong clinical skills.
Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
CPR certification and Completion of Handle with Care training during orientation process.
