Responsibilities

• Conduct 30 minutes Observational Rounds on clients.

• Assist in obtaining patient consent where appropriate.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and de-escalate situations.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Behavioral Health Tech is a professional member of the team who provides support with the

treatment of clients who have various mental health concerns and substance abuse disorders.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION:

1. Works in a safety-conscious manner which ensures the safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or in the workplace.
2. Complies with company policies and procedures, local, state, and federal regulations.
3. The ability to safely transport clients in various company vehicles.
4. Conduct 30 minutes Observational Rounds on the clients.
5. Share pertinent information with the treatment team as obtained from client, client’s family members, or significant others.
6. Provide pertinent patient information based on evaluation, and group and individual interactions, to assist in the patient treatment process.
7. Meets with Director of Operations on a regular basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and or improving services.
8. Effective time management.
9. Attend monthly staffing meetings.
10. Document client progress/regression according to established policies and procedures.
11. Continue with educational courses and in-services training, per policies and procedures.
12. Update knowledge of community resources on a continuous basis.
13. Respond effectively to changing situations in the work setting.
14. Work as a team member, demonstrating maturity under stress and objectivity.
15. Demonstrate good communication skills.
16. Perform work duties in a professional manner.
17. Report abuse of patients’ rights immediately.
18. Participate in obtaining the patient’s informed consent for procedures, treatments, and research, as appropriate.
19. Participate in Performance Improvement monitoring and evaluating activities.
20. Act decisively and effectively in managing staff, patients, and other employees during emergency situations.
21. Assists with cleaning the facility to attain infection control goals.
22. Assist with flow of Clients within the facility, assist with de-escalation of clients as needed.
23. Perform other capacities as needed.

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

1. EDUCATION: Minimum High School Diploma
2. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year’ experience in substance abuse or and a minimum of one year of experience in a partial hospitalization program or other mental health setting.
3. SKILLS/ABILITIES:
