Job summary

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is seeking a part-time on-call Behavioral Health Technician to support adults in residential and outpatient substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment. You will monitor safety, assist with daily routines, document observations, and support groups and milieu management.

Working in a trauma-informed, person-centered environment, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, gain experience with complex co-occurring disorders, and receive ongoing

Qualifications

• CNAs or CMAs preferred; not mandatory.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or obtainable within hire timeline.
• Gains in trauma-informed, person-centered care are valued.
• Experience with crisis intervention is beneficial.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to clients in residential and outpatient substance use treatment programs.
• Monitor client safety, behavior, and adherence to treatment plans and program rules.
• Assist with daily living activities, group schedules, and milieu management in a structured setting.
• Document observations, client interactions, and incidents in accordance with program and regulatory standards.
• Support trauma-informed, person-centered interventions under clinical direction.
• Assist with admissions, orientations, and discharges as needed.
• Respond calmly and effectively to crises or behavioral escalations, following safety protocols.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and case managers to support individualized care plans.
• Model and encourage recovery-oriented, respectful, and accountable behavior.
• Participate in required trainings, supervision, and team meetings to maintain best practices.
