Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Technician, will monitor clients, transport them for treatment, communicate and document all occurrences, and help to provide a safe, caring environment in which the clients can recover. The Behavioral Health Technician spend more direct time with the clients than any other position, and as such, are the lead role models in helping the clients to rebuild new lives. Requires maintaining a positive, productive attitude, even when clients may be argumentative or non-compliant.

Job Functions:

  • Conduct and document rounds of the facility, including walkthroughs every 15 minutes during operating hours to monitor clients and ensure safety, requiring prolonged periods of being on your feet.
  • Collect, monitor, and document urinalysis (UA) samples and breathalyzer (BA) screenings in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
  • Complete accurate and thorough documentation of all tasks, including intakes, group sessions, and client interactions, ensuring timely record-keeping.
  • Ensure the proper handling and protection of patient belongings, respecting their personal items and ensuring they are safely stored or returned.
  • Run recovery skills or support groups as assigned.
  • Support crisis management efforts, responding promptly and effectively to client needs
  • Complete client intakes, including gathering necessary documentation and understanding consent and release procedures. Demonstrate knowledge of substance use and mental health diagnoses, ensuring appropriate care and support.
  • Send daily email communications to clinical staff and all departments to ensure clear and consistent updates.
  • Monitor and maintain the inventory of all supplies and the storage closet, advising the supervisor when restocking is required. Ensure and maintain the cleanliness of the facility, including client areas and common spaces.
  • Schedule and provide local transportation for clients, following company transportation policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the use of computers, ensuring proper and respectful use.
  • Provide support to clinical and medical staff, and other departments to deliver high-quality care.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal regulations regarding client confidentiality and privacy.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.

  • Experience facilitating groups effectively.
