Job summary

Grandview Medical Center - Birmingham, AL is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician for PRN Nights (7p-7a) with rotating weekends and holidays. You will provide direct patient care in a behavioral health setting, assist with treatment plans, monitor behavior, and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Under supervision of licensed professionals, you will support emotional well-being, crisis intervention, and daily living activities for patients with mental health or substance use disorders.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years in behavioral health, mental health, or healthcare setting required.
• Experience with patients with psychiatric disorders, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, assisting with daily activities and monitoring patient behavior.
• Observes, documents, and reports patient behaviors and responses to interventions.
• Assists in implementing individualized treatment plans under supervision of behavioral health professionals.
• Engages patients in structured activities and therapeutic programming.
• Responds to crisis situations, de-escalates conflicts, and applies safety interventions.
• Maintains a safe environment by following safety procedures and conducting room checks.
• Assists with vital signs, specimen collection, and documentation as required.
• Collaborates with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare providers to support progress.
