Job summary

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support the daily care of psychiatric patients and assist discharge planning under clinical supervision.

This part-time night-shift role requires BLS and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within stated timelines, plus a valid driver license. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and compassionate patient care as part of the HCA Healthcare family.

Qualifications

BLS must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
Driver License required.

Responsibilities

Provides direct daily care to psychiatric patients, including safety checks, vital signs, escorts and transports as assigned.
Assists activities therapy staff in recreational therapy and activities with patients.
Models, teaches and reinforces appropriate behavior for patients and supports treatment team interventions.
Facilitates process groups, goals groups, educational groups and problem-solving groups for patients and staff.
Communicates clearly and documents all pertinent information in the medical record.
Participates as a member of the treatment team to provide safe, effective, timely and compassionate care.
Assists with discharge planning activities and tasks for all patients.
