Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health in Glenview, IL seeks a part-time Behavioral Health Tech III to support patients from admission through discharge and to assist in treatment planning. You will help ensure safety, lead psychoeducational groups, and assist nursing staff while maintaining thorough documentation.

The role involves patient transport, crisis intervention when needed, and adherence to program schedules.

Qualifications

• Two or more years experience working within the mental health, substance use or eating disorder field required.
• Valid and unrestricted State Driver's License.
• Must obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire, training provided.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid, along with Food Handling/Safety certification within 30 days of hire, training provided.
• Substance Use Division: Minimum 1 year sobriety if in recovery.
• Eating Disorder Division: Minimum 1 year recovery from eating disorder if in recovery.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; High School Diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to DBH policies and procedures and represents values.
• Provides exemplary customer service to all patients.
• Facilitates patient daily needs per the program schedule.
• Assists Nursing staff with duties and patient supervision.
• Recognizes, responds to crises and provides interventions as appropriate.
• Supports treatment plans and patient admission/discharge processes.
• Maintains documentation including shift notes and group notes.
• Maintains a safe environment and conducts facility checks.
• Leads daily groups as directed by facility leadership.
• Provides transportation services including patient transport and errands.
