Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health in Houston, TX is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech II to support patients from admission through discharge. You will contribute to treatment planning, ensure safety, provide interventions, and lead psychoeducational groups within a residential program.

The role involves collaborating with clinical teams, assisting with daily patient needs, and maintaining documentation. A valid driver’s license and preference for healthcare experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
• One or more years experience working within the mental health, substance use or eating disorder field preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted State Driver's License.

• Facilitates patient daily needs per the program schedule, including waking/bedtime routines, meals, hygiene, and safety observations.
• Assists Nursing staff with duties as directed (e.g., patient supervision, vitals).
• Recognizes, responds to, and assists in crisis situations and provides interventions as appropriate.
• Reports to work on time and prepared to perform duties.
• Assists in implementing individual patient treatment plans.
• Supports patient during admission and discharge processes.
• Monitors patient activity and documents significant issues; completes shift notes and other documentation.
• Maintains organized and safe environment and performs basic housekeeping duties.
• Conducts regular facility and grounds checks and reports concerns.
• Facilitates and leads daily groups as directed by facility leadership.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings and completes online training.
• Provides transportation services when qualified to drive a company vehicle.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Residential Treatment Only: passing medicine may be required in applicable states.
