Job summary

Center for Discovery in Menlo Park, CA is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech II (BHT II) to support patients from admission through discharge and contribute to the treatment planning process. You will help ensure patient safety, provide interventions, lead psychoeducational groups, and assist with daily needs.

Responsibilities include adhering to policies, delivering exemplary patient service, supporting nursing staff, documenting notes, and aiding in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• One or more years experience working within the mental health, substance use or eating disorder field preferred
• Valid and unrestricted State Driver’s License required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred

• Facilitates patient daily needs per the program schedule, including waking/bedtime routines and hygiene, meals/snacks, bathroom safety observations, free time.
• Assists Nursing staff with duties as directed, e.g., patient supervision, vitals, room searches.
• Recognizes, responds to crises and provides interventions as appropriate.
• Reports to work on time and prepared to perform duties.
• Assists in implementing patient treatment plans and discharge processes.
• Monitors patient activity and documents significant issues; completes shift notes and other documentation.
• Maintains organized, safe environment and basic housekeeping duties.
• Conducts facility and grounds checks and flags safety concerns to leadership.
• Facilitates and leads daily groups as directed.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings; completes online trainings and HR file upkeep.
• Provides transportation services including patient transport and errands (pre-qualified to drive company vehicle).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
